The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), mHenry Nana Boakye popularly known as Nana B, has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman of the party.
In a statement addressed to party executives, elders, patrons, and members, Nana B said his decision was driven by a “deep sense of duty” and a desire to contribute to rebuilding the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
According to him, his 26 years of active service within the NPP have equipped him with the experience and leadership skills needed to strengthen the party’s structures, reconnect with the grassroots, and support efforts to return the NPP to government.
> “By the grace of God, and after twenty-six (26) years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028,” he stated.
Highlighting his political journey, Nana B outlined his extensive service across various levels of the party, including polling station leadership, constituency and regional roles, youth leadership, and national executive positions.
Among the positions he listed are TESCON President at KNUST and UMaT, member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team, Director of Events and Programmes of the National Youth Wing, National Organiser of the NPP, member of the National Executive Committee, and member of the National Council.
He also cited his involvement in the party’s 2020 Presidential Election Petition Legal Team, as well as the 2020 and 2024 National Campaign Teams, describing these experiences as key preparations for higher leadership.
Nana B said his ambition is anchored on unity, renewed determination, and strengthening the party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
He called on party faithful to support his bid with their prayers, guidance, and encouragement as the NPP prepares for its internal elections.
His campaign is being promoted under the slogan: Bold, Fearless and Experienced.”
The announcement officially places Nana B among the contenders expected to vie for one of the party’s top national executive positions as the NPP begins preparations to reorganise its leadership following the 2024 elections.
