At the 59th Special Congregation of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), President of Ramapo College of New Jersey, ProfessorCindy Jebb, has underscored the growing importance of international academic collaboration, leadership, and student excellence.
Delivering an address as a guest of honour, Prof. Jebb highlighted the rising global profile of Ramapo College, noting increasing demand for admission and record student enrollment in 2024, the largest in the institution’s nearly 60-year history.
Reflecting on the long-standing partnership between KNUST and Ramapo College, Prof. Jebb traced its origins to over two decades ago when academic exchanges between faculty from both institutions began. She singled out Kwesi Agyei and Kofi Agorsor for their instrumental roles in sustaining the collaboration, particularly in student and faculty exchange programmes and curriculum development.
She urged graduating students to emulate such leadership and commitment, describing their contributions as vital to strengthening global academic networks.
Prof. Jebb also paid tribute to the Chancellor of KNUST, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, whose leadership she described as impactful and inspiring. Additionally, she acknowledged the outgoing Vice-Chancellor for her service, noting that her legacy would continue to shape the university for years to come.
Addressing the graduating Class of 2026, she congratulated both students and their families, encouraging them to uphold values of excellence, collaboration, and integrity as they transition into the next phase of their lives.
The 59th Special Congregation brought together academia, traditional leadership, and international partners, reinforcing KNUST’s position as a hub for global academic excellence.
