Ghanaian evangelist and former traditional priestess, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has been released from prison following months of incarceration linked to fraud-related offences.

Her release took place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, after she completed the required portion of a revised custodial sentence under Ghana’s remission policy, which allows qualified inmates to be discharged after serving two-thirds of their term for good conduct.

Agradaa had initially received a 15-year prison sentence in July 2025 after an Accra Circuit Court found her guilty of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement connected to a controversial money-doubling scheme promoted during church services.

However, the Amasaman High Court later reviewed the punishment, describing the earlier sentence as excessive and subsequently reducing it to a 12-month jail term alongside a financial penalty.

With the revised ruling applied retrospectively from the date of conviction, she became eligible for remission after serving eight months in custody, leading to her release from Nsawam Prison.

Reports indicate that the controversial preacher reunited with her family shortly after regaining freedom and is expected to reconnect with members of her ministry as she resumes public life.
