The management of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has interdicted five officers of its Customs Division with immediate effect, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
The interdiction follows preliminary findings from an enforcement operation conducted on February 18, 2026, involving a consignment of transit cargo declared for onward movement to Niger. According to the Authority, the operation uncovered discrepancies in documentation and non-compliance with established transit procedures, prompting a detailed internal review.
Initial assessments indicate possible procedural breaches that require further independent and comprehensive examination. The ongoing investigation is expected to establish the full facts of the case, including the extent of any individual involvement and deviations from approved Customs protocols.
The GRA noted that additional officers may be invited to assist with the investigation where necessary. It added that upon completion of the process, appropriate administrative action will be taken in line with applicable laws and regulations.
