The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced plans to withdraw its services across the country beginning March 9, 2026, if the government fails to address its concerns over salaries and working conditions.

The association says the intended industrial action follows delays in the implementation of a new salary structure and revised conditions of service for its members. According to its leadership, the adjustments were expected to take effect earlier, but progress has stalled without clear explanation.

CLOGSAG noted that several attempts to resolve the matter through discussions with the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission have not produced the desired results.
Union officials say the continued inaction has left members frustrated, warning that the association is prepared to take decisive steps to push for compliance with the agreed terms.

They emphasized that unless urgent measures are taken to honour the commitments, workers under the association will have no option but to stay away from their posts nationwide from the declared date.

The planned strike, if carried out, is expected to affect administrative services across civil and local government institutions.
