State prosecutors handling the corruption case of former Osei Assibey Antwi have announced plans to amend the charge sheet against him. Antwi is facing allegations of authorising GH¢500,861,744.02 in allowances to over 60,000 non-existent national service personnel and diverting GH¢106 million from the NSA’s Kumawu Farm Project for personal use. He has pleaded not guilty to 14 counts, including causing financial loss, theft, and money laundering.
During proceedings on Tuesday, February 17, prosecutors said a performance audit of the National Service Authority, submitted to the Attorney-General, has prompted the need to revise the original charge sheet. The court granted a short adjournment to allow the prosecution to make the amendments, and the case has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 25, when Antwi’s plea will be retaken.
Antwi was initially granted GH¢800 million bail on October 30, 2025, with six sureties each backed by landed property. After failing to meet these conditions, his lawyers requested a review, and in December 2025 the court reduced his bail to GH¢120 million with two sureties.
