IGP Reshuffles Senior Police Officers in Major Administrative Reassignment

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has carried out a major administrative reshuffle within the Ghana Police Service, reassigning several senior officers with immediate effect in a move aimed at strengthening leadership and improving operational efficiency.

The reassignments affect officers at both national headquarters and regional levels.

Commissioners of Police

COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe has been moved from his role as Director-General of the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to assume the position of Director-General of Police Operations.

COP Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba has been reassigned from Director-General of Police Technology to Director-General of the National Patrol Department (NAPD).

COP Iddi Lansah Seidu, formerly Director-General of Police Welfare, has been appointed Director-General of Police Technology.

COP Dr Vance Baba Gariba has been transferred from Director-General of Police Operations to Director-General of Police Research and Planning.

Deputy Commissioners of Police

DCOP Darko Offei Lomotey has been moved from Director-General of Police Research and Planning to take over as Director-General of the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB).

DCOP Eric Ken Winful has been reassigned from Director-General of the National Patrol Department (NAPD) to Director-General of Police Welfare.

Regional Appointments

At the regional level, DCOP Charles K. Adu has been appointed Regional Commander of the Eastern Sector Region.

DCOP Isaac Asante has been transferred from his role as Eastern Regional Commander to a new position at the National Police Headquarters.

DCOP George B. Ohene Boadi has been appointed Regional Commander of the Central Region.

DCOP George Ankomah has been moved from his previous role as Central Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) and the Ashanti Region to become Regional Commander of the Eastern North Region.

DCOP Alex Kodjo Wowolo has been reassigned from Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the National Police Headquarters to serve as Central Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) and the Ashanti Region.

In a statement, Mr Yohuno said the strategic postings form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen command structures, enhance operational effectiveness, and improve service delivery across the Ghana Police Service.
