Bechem United head coach Kassim Amissah has praised Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare ahead of their Ghana Premier League Week 21 clash, describing him as a top-quality shot-stopper, while maintaining that his side can still find the net.
Speaking in an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM, Amissah said Asare deserves the recognition he has received for his performances but noted that the goalkeeper has conceded goals in the league, suggesting that Bechem United could also create scoring chances.
“Benjamin Asare is an excellent goalkeeper and deserves all the accolades he is getting. However, he has conceded goals in the league, which shows that it is possible to score against him,” Amissah said.
He added that overcoming a goalkeeper of Asare’s experience would require composure and maturity from his players, stressing the importance of mental strength in front of goal.
Amissah further indicated that Bechem United are fully focused and ready for the challenge, despite acknowledging the quality of their opponents. He revealed that the team is targeting at least a point from the encounter at the University of Ghana Stadium, pointing to Hearts of Oak’s ability to secure a draw in Bechem earlier in the season.
“We respect Hearts of Oak, but my players are determined. Our aim is to pick at least a point, just as Hearts managed to do when they came to Bechem,” he stated.
The Week 21 fixture, scheduled for this weekend, is expected to be a closely contested encounter as both teams look to improve their positions in the Ghana Premier League standings.
