NSA Goes Digital with New E-Certificate System for National Service Graduates

In a major step toward digital transformation, the National Service Authority (NSA) has introduced an online certificate system for Ghana’s National Service Personnel, bringing an end to the traditional paper-based process.

The new electronic certificates (e-certificates) are now available on the Authority’s official portal, offering current and past service personnel a faster and more convenient way to obtain proof of their national service. The platform is accessible via the NSA’s online portal, allowing users to apply, verify their identity digitally, and download their certificates without visiting an office.

Officials say the move is part of a broader shift toward digital service delivery, aimed at reducing paperwork, shortening wait times, and improving accessibility for users across the country. Those who served in previous years can request a reprint of their physical documents or opt for the newly launched e-certificate through the system.

To access the digital certificate, applicants must follow a few standard steps. The application must submit an online request using their National Service Scheme (NSS) details, complete identity checks including Ghana Card verification and a live photo capture, and then download the certificate once approved. The process typically takes up to five working days before finalisation.

The NSA has also uploaded the Annual Evaluation Forms for the 2024/2025 national service year to the portal, and personnel in that batch must complete and submit these forms to their district offices before they become eligible for e-certificate issuance.

As part of its outreach, the Authority has urged institutions and stakeholders to fully recognise the validity of the new digital certificates, assuring that they carry the same official weight as traditional paper certificates. Organisations seeking additional verification can contact the NSA through its formal channels.

With this digital rollout, the NSA continues its push toward modernisation with the hope to offer improved efficiency and greater convenience for national service graduates in Ghana.
