The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted 17 police officers in recognition of their outstanding professionalism and dedication to duty
According to a statement posted on the Ghana Police Service’s Facebook page on Wednesday, January 28, the officers were elevated for their critical role in a major security operation that led to the seizure of 10 wrapped slabs of cocaine valued at approximately GHC 1,032,650.00, along with sacks of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs at Ho in the Volta Region.
The officers were also commended for the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action gun and eight rounds of live AAA ammunition during a routine patrol operation at Jacobu.
The IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the officers on their promotions and praised them for demonstrating discipline, courage and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Mr Yohuno urged the promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility and encouraged all personnel of the Service to remain committed to excellence and integrity, assuring them that merit and professionalism remain the key basis for recognition and promotion within the Ghana Police Service.
