Government to Support Young Entrepreneurs – Ashanti Regional Minister Assures KNUST Graduates

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has assured graduates of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, that the government is strengthening support systems for young entrepreneurs through agencies such as the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), and the National Youth Authority (NYA).

Speaking at the 59th Congregation of the KNUST School of Business, he said these interventions are designed to equip graduates with the tools, capital, and institutional backing needed to start and sustain their own businesses.

He noted that the government has expanded entrepreneurship and youth development programmes under these agencies, including the President’s AdwumaWura Business support, which allows national service personnel to self-place into their own enterprises and receive financial support while building them.

Dr. Amoakohene said such policies demonstrate government’s commitment to helping graduates transition from job seekers to job creators.

He urged graduates to complement these opportunities with strong character and professional discipline.

“Your knowledge is powerful, but your integrity will sustain you in the corporate world,” he said, adding that character remains the most crucial asset in business and leadership.
