The Provost of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor Charles Ofosu Marfo, has commended the outstanding performance of the KNUST School of Business (KSB) for the 2024/2025 academic year.
He highlighted the school’s recent victories in national and international competitions. At the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) induction ceremony, a third-year accounting student swept multiple awards, including Best Student in Financial Reporting and Audit and Assurance, and was also named the overall best Level 2 graduate. He noted that KSB students excelled in the ACCA professional examinations, winning top awards in Performance Management, Financial Management, and Taxation. These achievements, he said, reflect the high quality of accounting education and mentorship at the School.
Professor Marfo also celebrated KSB’s victory in the 2025 Graphic Business Tertiary Business Sense Challenge (TBSC) Version 7.0, where the team emerged champions with 77.17 points, ahead of competitors from the University of Ghana Business School and the University of Education, Winneba. In addition, KSB secured the national title at the 2025 National Insurance Debate, triumphing over 15 other tertiary institutions.
He congratulated Miss Emmanuella Kumi, from the Department of Economics, who distinguished herself with a Cumulative Weighted Average of 86.42. She is also the best graduating female student of the entire university.
He reminded the graduands that nothing gets easier in life.
“As you keep going, you get better and success becomes your portion. “There are no secret to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure.”
He also commended faculty, staff and students for their dedication, noting that the achievements of the School of Business and the graduating class underscore KNUST’s commitment to academic excellence and national impact.
The College presented 3,285 undergraduate graduands this year. The graduands comprised 1,575 (48%) male and 1,710 (52%) female. In terms of academic performance, 679 students (20.7%) earned First Class Honors, 1,436 (43.7%) attained Second Class Honors (Upper Division), 1,072 (32.6%) had Second Class Honors (Lower Division), while 98 (3%) graduated with Pass.
