KNUST Alumna, Latifa Teiya Fuseini, Adjudged Overall Best Student at 2025 Call to the Bar

A proud alumna of the KNUST Faculty of Law, Latifa Teiya Fuseini, has been named the Overall Student at the 2025 Call to the Bar Ceremony, held on October 10 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

She received the prestigious John Mensah Sarbah Prize, awarded to the newly called lawyer who attains the highest academic distinction at the Ghana School of Law.

Teiya’s achievement marks the tenth time a graduate of the KNUST Faculty of Law has received this distinguished honour since 2011, a testament to the Faculty’s continued excellence in legal education and training.

Profile: A Rising Star in Law

At just 24 years old, Latifa Teiya Fuseini embodies determination, discipline, and faith. A proud Muslim woman, she had her secondary education at Achimota School from 2016 to 2019 before pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at KNUST.  She graduated with First Class Honours.

Among the 824 new lawyers called to the Bar this year, Teiya stands out not only for her academic brilliance but also for her humility and inspiration. She is the daughter of Alhaji Alhassan Bashir Fuseini, a former journalist, ex-Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu.
