The Good Morning KNUST Show, a morning program hosted by Abena Serwaa Gyamfi on Focus FM 94.3, shed light on examination regulations at KNUST ahead of the end-of-semester exams. The discussion emphasised the importance of adhering to the university’s rules to avoid serious consequences.
A Senior Administrative Assistant at the University Relations Office, Miss Esther Nutsugah Afeafa, outlined the University’s stance on academic dishonesty. “Cheating in examinations at KNUST comes with severe consequences, including reprimand, suspension, or even dismissal in extreme cases.”
She urged students to familiarise themselves with the KNUST Student Guide to avoid falling victim to examination malpractice. The conversation also addressed the university’s strict policy on “giraffing”, the act of peeping and copying from another candidate’s script, which is classified as a serious offense with penalties based on the available evidence.
The Host, Miss Abena Serwaa Gyamfi emphasised the importance of punctuality during Exams. “Students should make it a priority to arrive more than 30 minutes early and be fully prepared.
This will reduce stress and confusion on exam day,” she advised. Adding to the conversation, a panelist on the show, Abena Agyeiwaa Brefo, encouraged students to stay updated on any changes to their exam schedules to avoid last-minute surprises.
Edith Asravor also weighed in, advising students, especially first-years and continuing students to take their studies seriously, as exam results significantly impact their Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA). “What worked for you in second year might not work in third year.
Know what works best for you, maintain a healthy study routine, and find serious study partners,” she advised. As the discussion wrapped up, the panelist urged students to prioritise their health, get enough rest, and maintain a balanced routine as exams approach.
The Good Morning KNUST Show continues to provide valuable information to students, airing every weekday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Focus FM.
