The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Medical School has received a commemorative plaque listing the 26 members of its pioneering class of 1975; a gesture aimed at preserving the legacy of the institution’s first graduates. The plaque, presented by Professor Francis Martinson, a distinguished academic and medical researcher, will be prominently displayed on campus to inspire current and future students.
Professor Martinson emphasized that the initiative seeks to celebrate the invaluable contributions of the trailblazing class and ensure their names remain a part of the university’s history. As part of their contribution, the founding class also donated a copy of Nelson’s Textbook of Pediatrics to the university’s library.
This essential medical resource is expected to support postgraduate paediatric training while also serving undergraduate students eager to deepen their knowledge in the field. The donation marks a significant effort to strengthen medical education at KNUST, fostering a legacy of academic excellence and knowledge-sharing.
