Minister-designate for Labour and Employment, Abdul Rashid Hassan, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting gender equity in employment, emphasizing its role in economic growth. Appearing before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 30, 2025, the Wa Central MP stressed the importance of gender balance in the workforce, arguing that equal opportunities for both men and women would contribute significantly to national development.
Hon. Rashid Hassan assured the committee of his dedication to working closely with the youth to eliminate gender-based discrimination in employment. He also pledged to collaborate with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to ensure that employee productivity aligns with fair remuneration.
