The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Estonian Academy of Arts to deepen academic collaboration. The agreement, signed on January 14, 2024, at the KNUST Council Chamber, aims to enhance student and staff mobility, joint research initiatives, and the development of new academic programs.
Speaking at the ceremony, KNUST Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Asamoah, emphasized the role of partnerships in achieving the university’s strategic goals. He expressed optimism about the sustainability of this collaboration, aligning with the Vice-Chancellor’s vision of fostering robust ties with both local and international partners.
Dean of the International Programmes Office, Professor Daniel Duah, highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two institutions. “It was important to formalize this partnership through an MoU to expand our collaboration in staff and student mobility, as well as joint research,” he noted.
The event was attended by key officials, including KNUST Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng, Dean of the Faculty of Art Professor Karî’kachä Seid’ou, and Professor Edwin Kwasi Bodjawah. Representatives from the Estonian Academy of Arts included Sandra Mell, Head of the International Office, and Financial Director Andres Tammsaar.
The partnership is expected to enhance academic exchanges and foster innovative research collaborations, further solidifying KNUST’s position as a global hub for academic excellence.
