In an intense competition for academic supremacy, Isaac J. Oniti emerged as the overall best-graduating student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for 2024. At just 19 years old, the Nigerian-born Computer Engineering graduate secured the prestigious title with an extraordinary Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 87.23, narrowly surpassing Prince Paa Kwasi Baiden of the Department of Mathematics, who achieved a commendable CWA of 87.07.
Oniti’s journey to the top was nothing short of phenomenal. Over four years and eight semesters, he completed 55 courses with 55 straight A’s, maintaining a flawless academic record.
Not a single grade below an A marred his transcript. His performance was marked by 20 courses scoring between 90 and 99, 26 in the 80–89 range, and 9 in the 70–79 bracket, reflecting his unwavering commitment to excellence.
Prince Baiden, who also displayed remarkable academic brilliance, fell just short of clinching the title, highlighting the razor-thin margins in this year’s race for academic honors. Isaac J. Oniti’s victory underscores the power of dedication, precision, and resilience, cementing his legacy as one of KNUST’s brightest stars.
