The Office of the Vice-Chancellor at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced that the position of Pro Vice-Chancellor will become vacant on October 1, 2024. In accordance with Statute 13(b), the Vice-Chancellor has nominated three distinguished faculty members for this crucial role: Professor Charles Frimpong from the Department of Industrial Art, Professor Helen Michelle Korkor Essandoh from the Department of Civil Engineering, and Professor David Asamoah from the Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems.
Convocation members are hereby notified that the election for Pro Vice-Chancellor has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Voting will take place from 0800 hours to 1400 hours at the Great Hall Foyer, the Clinical Students Hostel at KATH, and the Obuasi Campus.
For those unable to vote in person, proxy voting is available. Members who wish to vote by proxy must personally collect a proxy form from the Registrar’s Office or request one via email at registrar@knust.edu.gh.
Completed forms must be submitted to the Returning Officer (Registrar) no later than 1600 hours on September 16, 2024. It is essential that anyone nominated to vote by proxy presents a copy of the proxy form at the polling station; otherwise, the proxy will be considered invalid.
No proxies shall be given to any candidate. Please be reminded that all categories of part-time and adjunct staff are ineligible to vote in this election.
