MSc Health Entrepreneurship students at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are advancing their research skills through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), an essential tool for analyzing intricate data relationships and deriving insightful conclusions. In recognition of SEM’s significance, the Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative at KNUST, in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, organized a specialized workshop on SEM for these students.
This initiative, spearheaded by the Health Ecosystem pillar under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Owusu, is designed to equip students with the diverse skill sets necessary for promoting equitable and inclusive growth in Ghana’s health sector. “This SEM will help you wherever you find yourself.
It will help you make informed decisions,” Dr. Owusu highlighted during the seminar. Prior to this, the students received training in Intellectual Property, regulatory issues, legal aspects of health business, and family business conflict resolution.
Prof. Bylon Abeeku Bamfo, Head of the Department of Marketing and Corporate Strategy, encouraged participants to fully engage with the sessions. “Make sure at the end of the programme, you can acquire these skills.
It’ll go a long way to help you,” he stated. Dr. Henry Ataburo from the KNUST School of Business, who led the workshop, advised participants to continuously practice the modules beyond the three-day event.
The Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, aims to enhance healthcare in Africa through its three pillars: Health Employment, Health Entrepreneurship, and the Health Ecosystem.
