Courtroom Tensions Rise; Nana Yaa Nyarko Denied Bail in Wyllbee’s Death Case

The Akropong District Court witnessed heightened tensions as Nana Yaa Nyarko, a suspect in the death of musician Wyllbee, faced an angry crowd outside the courthouse. The crowd accused her of being involved in the tragic incident, which has sparked widespread outrage.

Wyllbee, an emerging musician, was allegedly attacked. She appeared in court alongside several alleged accomplices, where the court denied her bail, leading to a charged atmosphere outside.

As Nana Yaa was escorted to a police vehicle, she faced a barrage of curses and insults from Wyllbee’s grieving family and supporters. Despite hiding her face, she was recognized and met with hostility, with family members expressing their grief and anger.

The case has been adjourned to August 11, 2024. The incident reportedly occurred in Abuakwa-Tanoso, Ashanti Region, at a property owned by Nana Yaa’s husband’s family abroad.

On July 5, 2024, Wyllbee was accused of theft after being seen urinating in the compound. He allegedly claimed to be visiting Nana Yaa, who purportedly denied knowing him, possibly to protect her marriage.

This led to suspicions and accusations, culminating in Wyllbee’s tragic lynching. Reports indicate that Wyllbee’s phone was destroyed during the incident, and a stone allegedly used to break into Nana Yaa’s room was recovered as evidence.

Contrary to the deceased’s mother’s claims, Wyllbee’s belongings were found elsewhere on the property, not near Nana Yaa’s residence.
