KNUST Elects New SRC President; Kane Nana Francis Wins with Over 44% of the Vote

In a landmark election, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has elected Kane Nana Francis, a third-year Geography student, as the President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC). Kane secured a decisive victory, receiving 8,890 votes, which accounts for 44.92% of the total votes cast, in a tightly contested race against eight other candidates.

This historic win marks Kane Nana Francis as the 64th SRC President of KNUST. Despite failing to win the election last year, Kane made a strong comeback, capturing the student body’s support with his campaign focused on improving student welfare, promoting academic excellence, and enhancing campus life experiences.

Kane’s manifesto highlights key initiatives, such as addressing accommodation challenges, fostering entrepreneurship among students, and advocating for more affordable tuition fees. He aims to create a supportive environment for personal development, learning, and research.

Kane Nana Francis will be working alongside his Vice President, Samuel Afful, as they take over from the outgoing SRC President, Yvonne Osei Adobea.
