The 63rd KNUST SRC President, H.E. Yvonne Osei Adobea, has outlined a series of projects to be undertaken by her administration during the second semester of the 2023–2024 academic year. In her second State of the SRC Address (SoSA), she announced plans to construct a sitting and study area at the Conference Center and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Hostel, as well as renovate the Students’ Clinic to enhance its capacity and address the deplorable state of laboratory facilities.
Additionally, the SRC will commence work on the SRC Carera Center, an ICT lab located at the Commercial Area, to improve students’ experiences. In response to students’ plight about shuttle services on campus, the SRC will procure additional shuttles, but this time around electric-powered buses, to reduce carbon emissions and promote a net-zero emission agenda.
The SRC has also crossed-faced one of the shuttle tracking systems, and it will be launched very soon, allowing students to monitor the location of shuttles and implement a crowd tracking system to help shuttle operators move to congested bus stops to ensure safe and efficient boarding. H.E. Yvonne Osei Adobea urged students to anticipate these projects, which aim to enhance their academic experience and promote sustainability on campus.
She is a leader with a great vision, thanks you very much H.E Osei Adobea, for such a wonderful project ❤️. May the good lord be with you.
