Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has issued a stern warning to media personnel and bloggers who might write negative reviews about his new movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” without actually watching it. The Ghanaian actor and entrepreneur expressed his frustration on the United Showbiz program, highlighting that his significant investment in the film aims to pave the way for rising stars in the industry.
Lil Win specifically called out Ghanaian content creator and blogger Kwadwo Sheldon for his perceived lack of support. According to Lil Win, Sheldon has never promoted his songs or movies, yet he is quick to offer negative commentary.
“I am not angry with anyone who has criticized my movie except those two people. Many people are expecting us to fail. We have lots of enemies,” Lil Win remarked, emphasizing the unjust nature of such criticisms.
The actor pointed out that while he welcomes genuine reviews, he has an issue with those who critique his work without having seen it. He assured that if 1,000 people watched his movie, they would not find it unappealing.
He believes that his film deserves fair and unbiased reviews, given the effort and resources invested. Lil Win’s comments reflect a broader concern about the influence of bloggers and media on public perception, particularly in the entertainment industry.
His insistence on arresting unfair critics underscores his commitment to protecting his creative work and ensuring its success, despite the anticipated backlash. Furthermore, he expressed regret that the movie’s premiere could not be extended to multiple locations like Kumasi and Sunyani, attributing it to potential negative reviews impacting his revenue.
“The premiere should have been one day for Kumasi, Sunyani, and other places, because I will collect my money and bulk without thinking about bad reviews,” he added. Lil Win’s remarks have sparked discussions about the role of media in shaping the success of creative projects and the responsibilities of reviewers in providing honest and informed opinions.
His strong stance highlights the challenges faced by artists in navigating public and media scrutiny while striving for success in their careers.
