KNUST Hosts AAMUSTED in Friendly Football Match

In a spirited celebration of the 25 years of distinguished leadership by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) welcomed their counterparts from the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) for a friendly football match. The Paa Joe Sports Complex buzzed with excitement on Thursday as AAMUSTED showcased their flair and prowess on the field, securing an impressive 5-1 victory over the host institution, KNUST.

Despite the fervent support from KNUST dignitaries and fans, the visitors dominated the game, denying the hosts the opportunity for a double celebration on this special occasion. Following the match, KNUST’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rita Akosuah Dickson, graciously presented the stunning trophy and medals to the victorious AAMUSTED players, acknowledging their outstanding performance in the invitational match.

In the women’s category, KNUST emerged triumphant with a 2-0 victory over AAMUSTED, further adding to the day’s celebratory atmosphere. Prof. Rita Akosuah Dickson once again took to the field to present the trophy and medals to the deserving KNUST ladies.

The festivities continued with other sporting disciplines, including tug of war, held at the Paa Joe Sports Complex, enriching the day’s activities and fostering camaraderie among the participating universities. As part of a series of events to commemorate the silver jubilee of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s reign, KNUST plans to host additional programs to honor his significant contributions to academia and the nation as a whole.
