TESCON Urged to Propose Implementable Policies; Charles Owusu Calls for Active Engagement

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Petroleum Hub Development Corporation,Charles Owusu, has urged the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) to play a more proactive role in shaping the policy agenda of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Addressing TESCON members on the theme “Breaking the 8: Effective Communication & Empowering the Youth for Success in the 2024 General Election,” Owusu emphasized the need for TESCON to propose implementable policies as a think-tank of the NPP.

He commended TESCON for its past contributions to the party’s growth but stressed the importance of stepping up activities to positively influence NPP policy initiatives. Owusu, a former petroleum executive with a strong financial background, highlighted the pivotal role of youth voices in shaping Ghana’s democracy.

He urged TESCON members to amplify their voices within the NPP ranks, asserting that “the future belongs to those who shape it.” As CEO of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, Owusu has been instrumental in leading the multibillion-dollar industrial park project, aimed at establishing Ghana as the hub for the petrochemical industry in West Africa.

His call for TESCON’s active engagement aligns with his vision of youth empowerment and policy-driven progress. TESCON members are now poised to heed Owusu’s call, leveraging their intellect and influence to contribute meaningfully to the NPP’s policy focus and advocacy efforts.

With their enhanced role as a think tank, TESCON aims to bolster the party’s agenda and propel Ghana toward a brighter future of economic and social development.
