Ghana Athletics earns plaudits for innovative family meeting initiative

In a bid to bring all stakeholders together, the leadership of Ghana Athletics has held a general interaction with all interest groups within the nation’s track and field sport.

The meeting, which took place on Saturday, November 11 via zoom, brought together top personalities in Ghana’s track and field space with some of the legends like Leo Myles Mills, Eric Nkansah, Christian Nsiah, John Myles Mills, Prof. Andrews Owusu, and former President Afelibek Ababu all participating.

Led by President Bawa Fuseini, the new executive briefed the meeting on the purpose of the meeting and also to seek input for the way forward for the sport.

Also, another rationale for the family meeting is to foster open communication among members and create an open atmosphere where members will be free to contribute their ideas for improving the sport in Ghana.

During the well-participated meeting, which lasted for over two hours, participants lauded the new GA leadership for the foresight to strengthen the relationships among the stakeholders, particularly, with the first meeting. Some members also called for the association to intensify preparation for the March 2024 13th African Games which will be staged in Accra.
